Using DialLink on desk phones

Updated this week

You can use DialLink not only on your computer or mobile device but also on a desk phone. This gives you more flexibility in making and receiving calls, especially if you prefer using a physical phone.

A desk phone is a physical device that connects to the internet and works with VoIP (Voice over IP) systems instead of traditional phone lines. These phones often look like classic office phones but are designed to work with modern cloud-based communication platforms like DialLink.

Why use a desk phone with DialLink?

While the DialLink desktop and mobile apps cover most communication needs, a desk phone can be a valuable addition or a preferred alternative. In many business scenarios, adding a physical desk phone can offer advantages:

  • Increased reliability
Desk phones don’t rely on browser tabs or background apps. They’re always ready for the next call.

  • Higher call quality
Built specifically for voice, desk phones often deliver clearer audio with less interference, especially in busy office networks.

  • Better call handling for high-volume teams
For teams handling large numbers of calls (like sales, support, or reception), desk phones are often faster and easier to manage than using a keyboard, mouse, or touchscreen.

  • Simplified workflows in shared spaces

Desk phones can remain in place at shared workstations, while users are assigned or reassigned remotely through the DialLink interface. This setup works well for hot-desking and shift-based environments.

Once your desk phone is connected to DialLink, you can make and receive calls using your DialLink number.
