How calls and texts outside the US and Canada are charged

DialLink subscriptions include calling and messaging within the United States and Canada*. Calls and text messages made outside the US and Canada are not included in the base subscription and are billed separately as metered usage.

*Our Unlimited calling and messaging plans are subject to a Fair Usage Policy to ensure consistent service quality for all customers. These plans are designed for typical business use, and usage levels are monitored. Usage that significantly exceeds standard levels may be adjusted. Please refer to our Usage Policy for more details.

What does “metered usage” mean?

Metered usage means that calls and SMS messages are charged based on actual usage, according to the applicable rates for each country.

Charges depend on:

  • The country of the phone number you are using

  • The destination country of the call or message

  • Whether the interaction is a call or an SMS

Examples of metered usage

Here are a few common examples:

  • If you place a call from a German phone number to another German phone number, the call will not be included in your unlimited calling plan and will be billed separately according to the applicable country-specific calling rates.

  • If you send an SMS from a UK phone number to another UK mobile number, the message will not be included in your unlimited calling plan and will be charged based on the applicable country-specific texting rates.

How can I check international rates?

International calling and messaging rates vary by country. To view current rates, visit the international calling and texting rates page.
