Preparing for number porting (US & CA numbers)

Updated yesterday

To make the porting process quick and easy, it's important to review a few prerequisites before submitting your request.

1. Gather required information
Before you begin,[GU1] make sure you have the following details ready. This information will help avoid delays or rejections during the verification process. To avoid delays, please double-check your information. Even a small typo can cause your current carrier to reject the port request and extend the timeline.

  • Full name of the owner or authorized user of the number(s).

  • Service address, which must be a physical address (no PO boxes).

  • A recent phone bill, dated within the last 30 days, showing:

    • Account information.

    • Owner or authorized user’s name.

    • Service address.

Below is an example of the bill you’ll need to submit:

2. Understand potential fees
Porting your number may involve charges from both your current provider and DialLink:

  • Current provider

You are responsible for any termination fees or additional charges your carrier may apply when you port your number to DialLink.

  • DialLink

After the port is complete, you will be billed according to standard DialLink rates for number hosting and usage, which are the same as for any number in your account.

To start a porting process, create a request on the DialLink platform.
