Assigning an MCP server to an AI agent

Once you’ve connected an MCP server in DialLink, you need to assign it to an AI agent so the agent can use the service during calls.

You can do this in two ways:

Option 1: From the AI agent settings

  1. Go to Settings > AI agents.

2. Select the agent you want to edit.

3. In the MCP servers section, choose the connected server from the dropdown list.

4. Click Add MCP server.

Option 2: From the MCP server settings

  1. Go to Settings > MCP Servers.

2. Select the server you want to assign.

3. In the AI agents section, choose the needed agent from the dropdown list.

4. Click Add AI agent in the desktop or browser version.

Next step: add instructions for your MCP-enabled agent

To make sure your agent knows how to use the connected MCP server, update their instructions in the Instructions field.
