What counts as a message segment

Daily limits are counted in SMS segments and MMS messages, not in conversations.

  • SMS: A single segment holds up to 160 characters. Longer messages are split into multiple segments (concatenated SMS), and each segment counts toward your daily limit.

  • MMS: MMS messages aren't split by character count. Each MMS counts as one message, whatever it contains, as long as it stays within MMS size limits. MMS can include images, video, audio, or longer text.
