This article explains when you may need to re-provision a desk phone purchased from DialLink and provides step-by-step instructions on how to do it.
I accidentally factory reset my desk phone. What should I do?
If you performed a factory reset on a desk phone purchased from DialLink, the pre-provisioned configuration that connects the phone to the DialLink system has been removed.
To restore this configuration, you need to re-provision the device. Follow the steps below to get your phone set up again.
New features are not available on my desk phone. What should I do?
When new features are released for desk phones, they are not automatically applied to devices already in use. To access the latest features on your desk phone purchased from DialLink, you need to re-provision the device.
Follow the steps below to complete the process.
How to re-provision a DialLink desk phone
DialLink uses auto-provisioning to configure desk phones. This method allows the device to automatically download its configuration from the DialLink server without requiring manual setup.
The steps below show how to apply the configuration:
On the phone, go to Menu > Status and find the IP address.
Open the IP address in a web browser.
Log in with administrator credentials.
Navigate to Settings > Auto Provision.
In the Server URL field, enter: https://api.diallink.com/v1/phone-system/provisioning
Click Confirm to save the changes.
Select Auto Provision Now.
Once the phone downloads and applies the configuration, it will automatically connect to your DialLink account, and you’ll be able to make and receive calls.
If you’re unable to use your desk phone after auto-provisioning, it may be due to a conflict between the new configuration and previous settings. In this case, we recommend performing a factory reset and then repeating the auto-provisioning steps.
Step 1: Factory reset the device
Option 1: On the device
Press and hold the OK button for 10 seconds. The phone will reboot automatically.
Option 2: Using the phone web interface
On the phone, go to Menu > Status to find the IP address.
Open the IP address in a web browser (past the IP address <phone_IP_address> after the https:// into the address bar).
Log in with administrator credentials.
Go to Settings > Upgrade.
Select Reset to Factory.
Step 2: Apply provisioning setup
Once the device restarts, configure the provisioning settings in the phone web interface:
On the phone, go to Menu > Status and find the IP address.
Open the IP address in a web browser.
Log in with administrator credentials.
Navigate to Settings > Auto Provision.
In the Server URL field, enter: https://api.diallink.com/v1/phone-system/provisioning
Click Confirm to save the changes.
Select Auto Provision Now.
Once the phone downloads and applies the configuration, it will automatically connect to your DialLink account, and you’ll be able to make and receive calls.
If you’re still unable to use the desk phone after auto-provisioning, contact our support team using one of the methods described in the Contact support article.
