A company/business profile is your verified business identity in DialLink. It doesn't verify you for messaging on its own, but it's required before you can verify your numbers for business texting, toll-free messaging, or caller name display. This article explains what the profile is, why you need it, who should register, and what it costs.
What Is company/business profile registration
Company/business profile registration is how you establish your business identity with carriers and regulators. You submit your company details once, and DialLink uses them to register your brand and messaging campaigns.
Business profile vs. messaging verification
Registering your business profile and verifying your numbers for messaging are two separate steps:
Business profile registration confirms who your company is. It's the foundation for compliance and for features such as CNAM.
Messaging verification approves you to send business texts. This includes A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration for local US and Canada numbers and toll-free verification. It can only start once your business profile is registered.
In short, the profile isn't a messaging approval by itself, but every messaging verification depends on it.
Who should register
You need a company/business profile if you plan to do any of the following:
Send A2P SMS/MMS messages, such as marketing campaigns, notifications, alerts, two-factor authentication codes, or customer support replies.
Use toll-free numbers for messaging. Toll-free verification requires a company profile.
Register CNAM (Caller Name) for voice calls. Your profile validates your business identity, so your company name can appear on outgoing calls.
Comply with carrier regulations and improve deliverability. A registered profile is required for both.
Is the company/business profile tied to a specific phone number
No. Your business profile represents your organization, so one profile covers multiple phone numbers.
When you register your brand for A2P 10DLC in the US, you can associate many phone numbers with your brand and its campaigns. This lets you send messages from several numbers under the same business identity.
