Why does my number show as “Scam Likely”?

Updated over a month ago

Has someone told you that your phone number appears as “Scam Likely”, “Suspected Spam Caller”, or something similar when you call them?

This can occasionally happen if a recipient’s carrier mistakenly flags your number as spam. Many carriers now apply stricter spam detection to protect their users, which may sometimes affect legitimate business calls. Here’s what you can do to prevent this:

  • Register your number
Register your business number with the FCC and verify it through the Free Caller Registry. This helps confirm your legitimacy and ensures your number is shared with major U.S. carriers like T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and US Cellular.

  • Stay compliant

Make sure you follow all relevant laws and regulations, along with DialLink’s Terms of Service. Non-compliant activity may increase the risk of your number being flagged.

  • Maintain consistent call behavior

Even registered numbers can be flagged if there are sudden spikes in call volume or if your number receives spam complaints. Avoid aggressive dialing patterns and ensure your outreach is expected and relevant to recipients.
