Set up Caller ID name (CNAM) for a phone number in DialLink

Updated over 3 weeks ago

After your A2P 10DLC registration is approved, you still need to set the Caller ID name (CNAM) for each phone number in DialLink. CNAM is not applied automatically. This article explains where to find the Caller ID name setting and how to configure it.

Before you start

Make sure that:

  • Your US carrier registration status is Approved.

  • You are configuring a US phone number.

  • You have Admin or Owner permissions.

How to set the Caller ID name

  1. Go to Settings > Phone numbers.

Desktop:

Open the Settings button in the web portal

Phone numbers desktop

Mobile:

Open the Settings in the mobile app

Phone numbers mobile

2. Select the US phone number you want to configure.

Desktop:

Phone number list desktop

Mobile:

Phone number list mobile

3. In the General section, specify the Caller ID name field.

Desktop:

change caller ID desktop

Mobile:

After setting the Caller ID name

Once set up, your outbound US calls become eligible to display your business name when supported by the receiving carrier. Test a Caller ID name display by placing a test outbound call from the configured number.

Caller name updates may take time to propagate across carrier networks. CNAM display is determined by the receiving carrier and is not guaranteed.
