Learn what’s required to get started with the WhatsApp for Business integration and the key limitations that may affect setup.
Before using WhatsApp for Business in DialLink, make sure your account meets the requirements outlined in this article.
Integration availability
WhatsApp for Business integration is available on Professional and Enterprise DialLink plans only. If you’re on a different plan, the WhatsApp integration won’t be available in your workspace.
Required permissions
To set up WhatsApp integration, you must have admin permissions in DialLink.
Only admins can connect a WhatsApp Business account and manage WhatsApp senders.
Approved registration for text messaging (A2P 10DLC)
To use a phone number for WhatsApp for Business messaging, it must be enabled to send and receive text messages. This requires registration with A2P 10DLC.
DialLink allows you to check your registration status and submit a registration request directly in the system.
To check the registration status:
Go to Phone System Settings
Desktop:
Mobile:
2. Open the Trust section

3. Review your registration status

If the status of a Trust campaign is not registered or approved, you need to submit a registration request. To do this, refer to the US Carrier and A2P 10DLC Registration articles for instructions.
WhatsApp Business account requirements
To use this integration, you need:
An active WhatsApp Business account
Access to a Meta Business Portfolio (WhatsApp Business Account / WABA)
During setup, you’ll be asked to log in via Meta and select the WhatsApp Business account you want to connect to DialLink.
Phone number requirements
Each phone number you want to use with WhatsApp in DialLink must be purchased and managed in your DialLink workspace. External phone numbers or personal WhatsApp numbers cannot be registered for this integration.
How many WhatsApp phone numbers you can register
The number of WhatsApp phone numbers you can register under a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) is determined by Meta, not by DialLink.
Phone number limits depend on your Meta Business verification status, account history, and overall quality rating.
Unverified Meta Business Portfolio
If your Meta Business Portfolio is not verified:
You are typically limited to up to 2 phone numbers per WhatsApp Business Account
Messaging capabilities may also be restricted
Verified Meta Business Portfolio
If your Meta Business Portfolio is verified:
You can register multiple phone numbers under a WhatsApp Business Account
The initial limit usually starts at 2 phone numbers per WABA
Meta may increase the limit over time based on messaging quality, compliance, and account performance
As your business maintains high message quality and complies with Meta’s policies, Meta may increase the number of allowed phone numbers (for example, to 5, 10, 20, or more). Limit increases are not guaranteed and depend on account standing.
Note: If you have any specific reasons and want to extend this limit, contact direct support.
