How to setup automatic call recording

Learn how users on Professional and Enterprise plans can enable automatic call recording.

Automatic call recording overview

DialLink allows you to automatically record all inbound and outbound calls. This functionality can be enabled or disabled based on the following entities:

  • Users

  • Desk phones

  • Auto receptionist

  • Ring groups

  • Call queues

Automatic call recording cannot be enabled based on a phone number entity, while this can be achieved, it needs to be done through one of the entities listed above.

Note: Automatic call recording is available only for users on the Professional and Enterprise plans. Users on the essential edition can only initiate a call recording manually.

How to activate automatic call recording for a user

To enable automatic call recording for a user:

  1. Go to Settings.

2. Navigate to Company Settings.

3. Open the Users tab.

4. Select the user you want to configure.

5. Locate Automatically record calls in the General section.

6. Turn the toggle On.

How to activate automatic call recording for a desk phone

To enable automatic call recording for a desk phone:

  1. Go to Settings.

2. Navigate to Phone Settings.

3. Open the Desk phones tab.

4. Select the desk phone you want to configure.

5. Locate Automatically record calls in the General section.

6. Turn the toggle On.

To enable automatic call recording for an auto-receptionist:

  1. Go to Settings

3. Open the Auto-receptionist tab.

4. Select the auto-receptionist you want to configure.

How to activate automatic call recording for a ring group

To enable automatic call recording for a ring group:

  1. Go to Settings.

3. Open the Ring groups tab.
