Configure call forwarding

Call forwarding allows you to redirect incoming calls for a certain number to another one, whether an employee is on vacation, outside of office hours, or unavailable. This way, you never miss important calls.

Subscription plan availability: The Call Forwarding feature is available on all subscription plans.

Understanding call forwarding charges

Enabling call forwarding is free for users on all subscription plans.

However, forwarded calls are treated as outbound calls from your DialLink phone number to the destination number and are charged accordingly.

  • Calls forwarded to U.S. and Canadian numbers: These calls are included in all unlimited plans (subject to the Fair Usage Policy)*

*Our Unlimited calling and messaging plans are subject to a Fair Usage Policy to ensure consistent service quality for all customers. These plans are designed for typical business use, and usage levels are monitored. Usage that significantly exceeds standard levels may be adjusted. Please refer to our Usage Policy for more details.

How to configure call forwarding

Follow these steps to set up call forwarding for a number:

  1. Go to the Phone numbers section and select a number from the list.

2. Toggle on the Call forwarding option.

3. Enter Forwarding number where incoming calls should be routed. Double-check the number for accuracy.

​Note. The destination number can be outside of DialLink, but it must be based in the US or Canada. You can also forward calls to any number within your DialLink workspace.

4. Select the time zone for the forwarding number to process calls based on the schedule.

Desktop:

5. Set the forwarding schedule by choosing one of the following options:

a. Forward calls 24/7
Forward incoming calls at all times. Toggle on the option Forward calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Desktop:

Enable 24/7 call forwarding on the desktop

Mobile:

Enable 24/7 call forwarding on the mobile

b. Set specific forwarding hours
Forward calls only during certain periods. Disable the 24/7 forwarding option and customize the forwarding schedule for each weekday by clicking Change.

Optionally, test the setup by calling your original number to confirm that calls are properly redirected.
